Our Ground Rules

Part of any corporate culture is the value system the company aspires to hold, and the behaviours those values inspire.  In human dynamics, we judge ourselves by our values and our intentions, while others judge us by our actions.  As a result, we have translated our values into action-based ground rules.

The ground rules guiding our behaviour at Common Outlook are:

  • We walk our talk to the best of our ability.
  • We exercise open, honest and direct communication.
  • We treat ourselves and others with respect and we embrace and leverage differences.
  • We take initiative and ownership – a “can do” approach.
  • When we make mistakes, we promptly take action to remedy the situation.
  • We try to always approach work and life with open-mindedness.
  • We foster a work environment of ease, fun and excellence.
  • We choose our actions based on our values and our mission.
  • We work as a team and support each other.
  • We honour our word: We do what we say and if we cannot, we communicate and figure out a new plan.
  • We give each other the benefit of the doubt: we make best-case assumptions about each other’s intentions and actions.
