Serge Dakessian

Serge Dakessian is a business development professional and lawyer specializing in contract negotiations. His practice focuses mostly on representing telecommunications carriers in their dealings with real estate companies and governmental authorities. Using the interest based approach developed by the Harvard Negotiation Project, Mr. Dakessian was instrumental in the closing of hundreds of agreements. Using this methodology, most of these agreements were long-term mutually-beneficially agreements, which in turn helped build strong relationships between the parties. Working for carriers like Winstar Communications, Telus Mobility, AT&T Wireless and Rogers Communications, he has negotiated with dozens of leading building owners including Equity Office Properties, Government of Singapore Investment Corp (GIC Real Estate) and Intercontinental Real Estate Corporation.

Prior to entering the telecommunications industry, Mr. Dakessian was an attorney at the Quebec Environmental Law Center in Montreal and collaborated with NGO’s and municipalities on establishing sustainable development practices. He also consulted with the Quebec Securities Commission as a legal advisor for World Bank projects related to the reform of commercial laws in Mozambique and Ecuador.

He has lived in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and currently resides in Montreal. He has traveled extensively in the US, Canada and Ecuador. Member of the Quebec Bar, Mr. Dakessian received his civil law (L.L.B.) diploma from Université Laval and studied political science at the Université du Québec à Montreal. He is fluent in English and French and has working knowledge of Spanish and Armenian.
